About the event

THE HONORABLE DIANE LUNDEEN, has been a workers’ compensation judge for

seventeen years. During her tenure on the bench, she has presided in courts across the state and

served as the Chief Judge from 2016 through 2018. Before taking the bench, Judge Lundeen

practiced state and federal workers’ compensation, tort, governmental affairs, and domestic law.

Early in her career, Judge Lundeen served as a legal consultant in unemployment and tax law to

business clients in forty-eight states. For eleven years, Judge Lundeen was an adjunct professor

at Tulane Law School, where she taught trial advocacy. For the past fourteen years, Judge

Lundeen has been the chair of the New Orleans Bar Association’s Workers’ Compensation

Section. She has previously served on the governor’s workers’ compensation Medical

Reimbursement Task Force, as the President and the Vice President of the Magazine Street

Merchants’ Association, and as a commissioner for the Garden District Security District. After

Hurricane Katrina, Judge Lundeen worked with the legislature, the Louisiana Law Institute,

special interest groups, and other divisions of the state to create legislation to address

prescription, abandonment, and other issues affecting stakeholders’ procedural legal rights and

obligations after the storm.

Judge Lundeen is also a small business owner, creating New Orleans’ first full-service pet

boutique in 2001. Petcetera has continued to serve the four-legged community and their two-

legged parents for twenty three years. Petcetera provides a forum for local artists to market their

innovative and interesting products. Judge Lundeen is also an active animal rescue advocate,

working with local rescues and assisting with developing animal health and safety laws. Judge

Lundeen received her B.A. from Tulane University and her J.D. from Loyola School of Law

New Orleans.
